New Members

Interested in joining Granite Cadet Squadron?

Adult Leaders

Two types of membership:

Full Senior Member:   Holds military grade; can wear USAF-style uniform
Cadet Sponsor Member:   No military grade; wears only CAP corporate uniform

Costs:
                Annual Dues:   $65 (Full) or $35 (Cadet Sponsor)
                Uniform:  ~$75 minimum (CAP polo or white aviator shirt/nameplate/epaulets)

Application steps:

  1. Attend three meetings to learn more about the program.

  2. Complete and submit your application and fingerprint card with first year dues to the squadron commander for review and signature (checks payable to “Civil Air Patrol”)

  3. Complete Level I to include Cadet Protection Policy Training.

  4. Choose a duty assignment and get involved.


Cadets

Age:  Must be a minimum age of 12; can join as a cadet until 19 years old but can remain a cadet until 21st birthday.  A note about ages:  The program is academically rigorous and relies on independent study; carefully consider your child's maturity before applying, especially for a young 12-year-old.  Some cadets do better waiting a year before joining.

Costs:  
                Annual Dues:   $35
                Uniform:   $165 one-time fee to squadron + cadet/parents to purchase boots, shoes, socks/hose,
                              and white v-neck t-shirt or camisole.
                    Blues – Can receives up to $175 voucher from CAP after 1st promotion towards blues
                                  pants/skirt and shirt/blouse (amount based on financial need)
                    ABUs - Squadron has used ABUs in many sizes; cannot guarantee perfect fit.
                    PT - Cadet provides black shorts/sweats, athletic shoes (tan ABU t-shirt to be worn with PT
                                  uniform)
                    Squadron will purchase (from $165 fee) name plate and name tape, patches, belts (2), flight
                    cap and device, tie or tab, boot blousers, ABU hat, tan t-shirt, black socks, initial grade
                    insignia, ribbon, ribbon rack

Application steps:

  1. Attend three meetings to learn more about the program.

  2. Complete and submit your application with first year dues and uniform fee to the squadron commander for review and signature (two checks/money order, each payable to “Civil Air Patrol”) -- do not use online application system

  3. Earn your first promotion and continue to actively participate/promote in the squadron
