Wright Brothers Review

To achieve the Wright Brothers Award and promotion to Cadet Staff Sergeant, cadets must pass a comprehensive written test covering leadership chapters 1-3.

It is recommended that cadets working towards the Wright Brothers Award do the following:

• Don't take your earlier leadership tests using the open-book method.  Take the extra time to learn the material.  The Wright Brothers test is closed book exam - you cannot use your notes!

• Read Leadership Chapters 1-3 again.  Listen to the audio version of the chapters while you are doing chores, exercising, or during downtime.

• Try to fill out the Notes worksheets for each chapter from memory.

• Watch the videos listed in the study tips worksheets for each chapter.

• Use some of the study tools to review your knowledge:  Quizlet and Kahoot! links are listed on each of the study tips worksheets.  See below for some Kahoot! and Quizlet games specific to the Wright Brothers exam.

• Do the crossword puzzles without looking at your notes.

• There are a couple videos specifically focused on studying for the Wright Brothers exam which were created by former CAP cadets.

When you feel you are ready to take the exam, let the squadron commander know in advance so you can coordinate a time to take the test.  The Wright Brothers exam is a proctored exam -- you will take it at the squadron with a proctor (a testing officer in the room with you).   Do not wait until the squadron meeting to ask to take your test.

The following Kahoot! and Quizlet games are specific to the Wright Brothers exam.  As with all Kahoot! and Quizlet, remember they are created by other CAP members and may have some differences.  Discern if the game is accurate or not as well as if it is the best tool for your study needs.
